Esther Muzirankoni, the mother of late singer Rukundo Christian, popularly known as Chriss Eazy, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Nyarugenge Hospital. She was laid to rest the same day at the Muslim cemetery in Nyamirambo.
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, Chriss Eazy’s children, family members, friends, fellow artists from various genres, and others gathered at Chris Hotel in Ruyenzi for the memorial ceremony marking the end of mourning for Esther Muzirankoni.

A close family friend who had shared many years with Esther expressed deep sorrow, describing her as a lifelong true friend. The friend revealed that Esther died while preparing food on a motorcycle she had been riding to deliver meals. A soldier nearby offered condolences and encouraged him to stay strong. The friend concluded with a touching farewell: “I have lost a true friend of the soul. May God welcome her among His own.
