🇺🇸 Kevin Muhire Set to Begin New Chapter with Jamus SC in South Sudan
Former Rayon Sports midfielder Kevin Muhire has officially announced that he is ready to embark on a new journey with Jamus SC, a top-flight club in South Sudan, which he joined last week.
The 26-year-old midfielder leaves Rayon Sports after a standout 2024/2025 season, where he played a crucial role in helping the team secure second place in the Rwandan Premier League and reach the final of the Peace Cup.
In an interview with Times Sport, Muhire expressed both confidence and excitement about his next chapter:
“I’m ready to play consistently and help my new team reach greater heights on the international stage. I feel physically fit and mentally prepared for this new responsibility. I’ve already started bonding with my teammates and the staff, which will make it easier to adapt to the club’s system.”
Muhire’s signing is seen as a major reinforcement for Jamus SC, especially in the midfield, as the club looks to strengthen ahead of next season. Jamus SC are the reigning champions of the South Sudan Premier League and will also be representing the country in upcoming continental competitions.
“I know I have a big responsibility to prove why this club trusted me enough to sign me,” Muhire added. “I’ll do everything I can to help the team perform at its best.”
Muhire brings a wealth of experience to his new team. Over the years, he has played for multiple clubs in Egypt and the Gulf region, including Misr Lel Makkasa (Egypt), Saham Club (Oman), and Al-Yarmouk SC (Kuwait).
His football journey began at Isonga FC, where he helped the team earn promotion to the top division. In 2015, he joined Rayon Sports and contributed significantly to their league title victory. He then moved to Egypt in 2019 to join Misr Lel Makkasa, also playing on loan for El Dakhleya and Tala’ea El Gaish.
In 2020, Muhire signed with Saham Club in Oman, later returning to Rayon Sports in 2021. He went on to join Al-Yarmouk SC in Kuwait in 2022, and returned once again to Rayon Sports in 2023. His most recent season was exceptional—he was named Rayon Sports’ Player of the Year (2023/24) and served as the team captain.
Beyond club football, Kevin Muhire has proudly represented Rwanda at all national team levels—U-17, U-20, U-23—and is currently a key member of the senior national team, Amavubi.
