Trump Urges People to Quickly Evacuate Tehran
U.S. President Donald Trump made this call following Israeli officials advising residents in northeastern Tehran to leave immediately on the morning of Tuesday, June 17, 2025, due to anticipated military strikes targeting key installations in the area.
Trump also emphasized that Iran must agree to sign a nuclear weapons deal with the United States, following ongoing negotiations.
He stated,
"In short, Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons. I have said it before, and I will say it again."
He added,
"Everyone must urgently evacuate Tehran!"
China Urges Its Citizens to Leave Israel
Meanwhile, China has urged its nationals to leave Israel as soon as possible, according to a statement from the Chinese Embassy in Israel.
On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the embassy advised Chinese citizens residing in Israel to evacuate promptly due to escalating attacks between Iran and Israel, which threaten their safety.
The embassy’s message on the WeChat platform read:
"The Chinese government reminds all Chinese nationals in Israel to leave the country as soon as possible, preferably via land routes for safer evacuation. It is recommended that evacuees head towards Jordan due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel."
The Chinese Embassy’s message further stated,
“Civilian infrastructure has been destroyed, civilian casualties continue to rise, and the security situation is rapidly deteriorating.”
The conflict between Israel and Iran has now reached its fifth day, having started on Friday, June 13, 2025, when Israel launched strikes in multiple locations across Iran. In response, Iran began retaliatory attacks targeting Israel as a form of self-defense.
